John K. Shubin Appointed to UM’s MRED+U Advisory Board

Miami, Florida — Shubin Law Group is proud to announce that its Founding Partner, John K. Shubin, has been selected to serve on the University of Miami’s Master of Real Estate Development + Urbanism (MRED+U) Advisory Board.

The MRED+U Advisory Board is an extraordinary gathering of industry leaders dedicated to advancing the mission, goals, and strategic planning of the graduate program within UM’s School of Architecture. Board members play a critical role in mentoring students, enhancing industry engagement, and strengthening ties to business and civic communities. Members work closely with Dean Rodolphe el-Khoury, the MRED+U Program Director, faculty, and administration to ensure the program remains at the forefront of real estate development and urbanism education.

John’s appointment reflects his nearly four decades of leadership at the intersection of real estate, land use, and complex commercial litigation in South Florida. As the Founding Partner of Shubin Law Group, he has built a career advising property owners, developers, and investors on high-stakes litigation, entitlement disputes, and transformative redevelopment projects throughout the state.

As CEO of The Euclid Group, John also brings together legal, planning, design, and regulatory expertise to counsel on public-private partnerships and multidisciplinary development strategies. This experience aligns closely with the interdisciplinary focus of the MRED+U program.

“I am honored to join the MRED+U Advisory Board and to contribute to a program that is shaping the next generation of real estate and urban development leaders,” said John Shubin. “I look forward to supporting students as they prepare to lead in an increasingly complex and interconnected industry.”

A native of Miami, John is also actively engaged in statewide and national leadership initiatives, including the Florida Council of 100, Florida 500, and the Real Estate Roundtable, where he contributes to policy discussions impacting real estate development and economic growth. He also serves in leadership roles with respected civil and cultural institutions such as Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden and HistoryMiami.

John’s appointment further reflects Shubin Law Group’s ongoing commitment to advancing thoughtful development, mentorship, and leadership within the real estate and land use community.
