Rendering of beachfront Miami Beach Condominium

Shubin Law Group represented 5333 Collins Acquisitions LP as majority owner in the termination of the La Costa condominium at 5333 Collins Avenue and the subsequent post-termination partition action — widely regarded as the first completed post-termination partition of its kind in Florida. This aging oceanfront condominium was terminated in accordance with the governing declaration and applicable law.

Following termination, the firm commenced the partition action of the former condominium property seeking partition by sale. The firm guided the client and prevailed in the partition action before the court’s complex division and related Third District appellate proceedings. Following a public partition sale, the client obtained title to the entire former condominium property. The successful completion of the partition action cleared title and allowed the redevelopment of this property.

With the legal framework secured, the former condominium property was demolished and is now being redeveloped as The Perigon, a 17-story ultra-luxury oceanfront condominium developed by an entity affiliated with Mast Capital and Starwood Capital Group. By successfully navigating Florida’s first post-termination partition of its kind, Shubin Law Group helped establish a practical roadmap for future condominium terminations and large-scale coastal redevelopment projects statewide.
